Bus with fans gets stuck after football match in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires, April 2 (NA) -- A bus with Chaco For Ever fans got stuck after its upper part became embedded in a low-level underpass. The incident occurred after the Banfield team lost to Defensa y Justicia 2-1 in the Copa Argentina. The episode happened when the bus crashed into the 'Carlos Fayanás' underpass, connecting Rincón and Vieytes streets, crossing under the Ferrocarril Roca tracks in Banfield. After the incident, several fans of the Chaco team were injured and were treated by medical personnel who arrived at the scene after being alerted, according to a report from the Chaco Ahora site accessed by the Argentine News Agency. The report also stated that the fans alleged they were mistreated by the police, and that officers told them after the match to 'leave quickly'. Additionally, the fans pointed out that after the match, police escorted one of the buses to an unviable route, as they directed the vehicle through the aforementioned underpass, a tunnel whose height is significantly lower than that of a long-distance bus. Following the impact, some passengers suffered cuts and bruises from the impact and broken glass, while the bus was destroyed on its upper part.
